Classify the triangle:

|dw:1354056754292:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) acute isosceles B) obtuse scalene C) right scalene D) obtuse isosceles <3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

those tick marks tell you that those sides are congruent

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so you have 2 congruent sides, which means what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.. Isosceles? I honestly don't know.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes good each angle is less than 90 degrees, so it is a) an obtuse triangle or b) an acute triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it'd be a acute isosceles? which is a ;)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU! Since, I understand you most on here when helping me, if I have anymore problems may I post them here? c;

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure or you can post a new one and just let me know about it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mk, thanks:) Expect more, cause there a comin'!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok

Victor calculates the percentage interest rate he needs to make $20 in simple annual interest over 2 months on a deposit of $1000 . Where did he go wrong? I=PRT 20=1,000*r*2 r= 0.01 r= 1%

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

t is the time in years (since interest is an annual thing, not a monthly thing) so it should be 20 = 1000*r*(2/12) since 2/12 years = 2 months

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a)He applied the principal and interest to the wrong variables. b)He should have divided 2 by 12 to get the value for t. c)He misrepresented the earned interest with the final balance. d) He should have multiplied r by 100 to get the interest rate as a percentage.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So which one? o.o

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

which one do you think it is (based off what i just said)?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you got it
