Which of the following is the most likely end for a star that formed from an extremely large nebula? Black hole Main sequence Planetary nebula White dwarf
@JakeV8 can you please help me ??
Black hole. Every star undergoes the stage called Main Sequence after its formation but the duration varies depending upon its initial mass. A star of low mass (<1.4 solar mass) can have an end stage called white dwarf surrounded by the gas and dust from the envelope of the last star of the star before the end, and this gas and dust appears like a ring or disc around the white dwarf. This disc like form is called the planetary nebula. So, you can always(as far as I know)/mostly see a white dwarf at the centre of the planetary nebula.(and there many types of white dwarfs based on their chemical composition). But, since you have mentioned that the star has been formed from an extremely large nebula, we can consider that the star could be massive. A massive star (>3 solar mass) ends its life with a massive explosion called the supernova explosion and ends up as a black hole. The stars whose mass are intermediate as ~1.4 to 3 solar mass will end up as neutron stars. [But even in massive nebulae the number of massive star formation is lesser than the number of less massive stars.] So, the most likely end could be a black hole.
