A 24,000-gallon pool is being filled at a rate of 40 gallons per minute. At this rate, how many minutes will it take to fill this pool ¾ full? 450 minutes 560 minutes 600 minutes 150 minutes
24,000 / 40 = 600
first your gonna wanna take 24,000 X .75 to get 3/4 of the pool which is 18000. divide that by 40 and you get 450
@Leonhart its asking for 3/4 of the pool not the entire thing
She should be able to solve these herself by now :)
@__assassin__ This website is meant to show people how to do these problems, not just give them the answer.
she's done now this is her last one
its called being nice now chill
(: yupp thanx to you i got a 85% onley missed 2 (:
Being nice doesn't allow her to learn :/
awesome good job
it will if you show her the steps
@Leonhart well you can't just not be nice but teach them in a nice wa. @rainbowink was one of them you got wrong the family one?
I already learned this stuff bro they where giving me work from lower grades and i forgot how to do them do yea shut it -____-
haha your still on that dread? take .9 times 120, you will get 108
I realize that but you gave her the wrong information on that... on percentages like that you don't need to multiply anything just divide 12 by 120.
In the order that the questions asks you: You need to figure out how many gallons are being filled per minute. Then you need to figure out what 3/4 (aka: 75%) of that is.
dude in order to change a decimal to a percentage you multiply by 100 dont be stupid im sure you learned this
I'm not being stupid assassin, it's the same concept as finding a grade percentage...
12/120 = .1 .1 X 100 =10% 100%-10% = 90%
YOU DO THE SAME FOR A GRADE
if you get 27/30 on a test you take 27 divided by 30 and get .9 in order to make that a percentage you multiply it by 100 and get 90%
You can either divide or move the decimal place when converting from percentage to decimal and vice versa.
So your telling me that if I take 100 question test, get ten correct then divide 10 by 100, to get .1, multiply by 100 to get 10 then do 100%-10% I get a 90%? Holy pellet, I should have had a 10.0 GPA at that during my freshman grade.
>.> smh when you move the decimal place it is multipling or dividing
what?! your so dumb, if you get 10/100 you would take 10 divided by 100 and get .1 , times by 100 and get 10%, thats your grade. you would only 100-10 to get 90% of the questions marked wrong. it asked her how many people DIDNT do it
I'm sorry, I forgot that to convert a decimal to a percent you multiply and when you convert a percent to a decimal you divide. This is why I simply move the decimal ;)
haha yea
thats what im trying to say and he's not getting
