tan(1080°)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1080 degrees = (3)(360) degrees, So, we are talking about the same as 0 degrees. tan 0 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because tan x = (sin x)/(cos x) tan 0 = (sin 0)/(cos 0) = 0/1 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 0 though ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You start at 0 degrees. Once you go a full 360 degrees, you are back at the same point, which is 0. If you go another time around, that's twice around or 2 x 360 degrees, which is 720. And again, you are right back where you started, at 0 degrees. One more time around for 3 cycles or 360 degrees or 3 x 360 = 1080, and again, you are right back to where you started. You went around 3 times, but it's as though you are standing still, because you are still again at 0 degrees.

ok wow i cant believe i didnt see that.
