Which of the following coordinates is nearest to the right of the origin on a coordinate plane? A) (-3, 0) B) (5, 0) C) (2, 1) D) (4, 4)
Hi need help i think it is 5,0
No wait 4,4
the origin is (0,0)
If you can can you help me on other problems to
not to gve me the asnwer but help me correct them???
so you want x to be positive and y to be close to 0
Well i am guessing whatever of the sets that are listed above is closiest to the right!
Hey
Mark o can you help me please reply O:
i just told you what to do, guessing doesnt get you anywhere
use the distant to a point formula to know which one is closer or less distance to the origin (0,0) the distance formula is \[d=\sqrt{(x1-x2)^{2}+(y1-y2)^{2}}\]
solve them all against the origin (0,0) for A) (-3, 0)=(x1,y1).., (0,0)=(x2,y2) \[d=\sqrt{(-3-0)^{2}+(0-0)^{2}}= \]
solve them from A to D and compare which one is the nearest to the right of the origin (0,0)
