OK, if I have a 80.6% in my class and the final will be worth 35% of the grade in a scale of 100-90=A 89.9-88=B+ 87.9-80=B what percentage would I need in the final to get an A? just curious..but I'mm not good at Math, so If you know...
Let me do it step by step lol: if your final is 35% of your grade, it means that the 80.6% percent that you have right now constitutes 65% of your total grade for the class.
0_o then I need 100% in the final to get an A?? :/
is the final exam that you're about to take the only thing that is missing from your class?
yup we use MyMathLab... I have a 80.6% there...
mind if I asked what the 65% consists of? I might be mistaken.
if you have the breakdown of your grades that might be great.
?? ok so the syllabus says this: hw=20%, midterm=25% and the 80.6% its the grade for everything together (homework, midterm, quizzes)
from what I have calculated, if the only thing not included in your current grade of 80.6 grade is your final, your actual points from the 65% of the work that you have completed is 52.39 points out of 65. That means your highest grade if you get a hundred percent on your final is 87.39.
hw is 20% and midterm is 25% so i guess your quizzes count as 20% of your grade?
yes, you are right
yeah.. unless your professor somehow has a unique way of grading, the highest your could get is what i said earlier. If he curves, you're not far from getting an A. The best thing to do is to actually talk to him/her about your chance, but the calculation I did is pretty much the standard way of calculating the grade w/o the curve.
:/ not got then ha, ok thanks :)!
*good
ask your prof.. if you convince them enough or are headstrong about bumping your grade you might actually get the A. you're just around 3 points shy from the 90. :)
I WILL :)
