A diploid cell has two pairs of homologous chromosomes. How many different combinations of chromosomes could there be in the gametes?

This question is about random assortment: this means that either chromosome from a pair can be found in a gamete with either chromosome from another pair. So for an organism which 2 pairs there are four possible combinations. To put this in mathematical notation: for n pairs there are n! combinations.

Sorry I remembered something: for n pairs of somatic chromosomes there are n! combinations.
