I'm solving algebraic word problems, and I'm not sure how to write this certain part of a problem one as an equation:
"If 9 is subtracted from two-thirds of a number..."
What would "two-thirds of a number" be written as? I was thinking maybe 2/3X but that would make it seem like it was 2 divided by 3x. Help?

I was just tryig to figure out how to write that certain part "two-thirds of a number"

While you guys are arguing, I just want to point out, the x is not in the denominator.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I can't really write it\[\frac{2 }{ 3 }x\] because I have to do it on a computer program
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is there another way to do that?
