hero (hero):

Hint: Put the data set in numerical order

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many numbers are in the set?

hero (hero):

@clittlejohn32, do you only respond to questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what a quartile is can you explain what this whole thing is please someone

OpenStudy (amistre64):

.... thats what we are doing, if youll play along

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero 10 Right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a quartile deals with position; and the term means 4 what is 10/4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 and @Hero is the answer 4? put in the numerical order and i also took in to consideration what Quartile is

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it might be 4, i havent determined it yet :) 10/4 = 2.5 since the 2nd position is not enough, then we need to round this up to the 3 ... the third position

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if the value 4 is the 3rd smallest value than yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sorting it from low to high helps to pick out the right position

OpenStudy (amistre64):

4,5,6,8,11,12,14 .... ^ thats the value in the 3rd position

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh ok i get what youre saying now thanks so much i really suck at math

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if it had asked for the 3rd quratile; we would have down 10/4 and timed it by 3 to work it out ....
