Graph the line of the equation 5x + 3y =-15

hero (hero):

Make an xy table bro. Start with x = 0: x|y 0|-5 -3|0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i suggest putting into y = mx + b form... it's much easier and saves time. But a table will work too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could you show me how to use any of those?

hero (hero):

Much easier than the table? lol

hero (hero):

The table takes two seconds.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure. so essentially we want to solve for "y". Do you have questions on how to do that?

hero (hero):

Using the table, I already have two points, the x-intercept and the y-intercept. Alls anyone has to do after that is plot the points, draw the line and be done with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's not going to work with more difficult equations, especially if you aren't allowed to use a calculator.

hero (hero):

It works every time bro. lol Show me one where it doesn't work.

hero (hero):

We're talking about linear equations, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just pretend i don't know how to do it, teach me from thr ground up i'll learn xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hell yeah hero LOL it worked!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how did you know to put -5 and - 3 ? did you change it because the answer equals -15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am confused on how he got -5 and -3
