The slope is - 3/4 and the y-intercept is 5. What is the equation of the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=1.3x+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. What are the steps for getting to that answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the rise should be 4 and the run as 3 so divided 4 by 3 witch is 1.3 this is the is your gradient and the y intersept is 5 then put that into the equation off y=1.3x+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

way to go dumpellet, actually the answer is y = 13/10x + 5, sorry about the other guy he just helped another person and .....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slop of the line witch is rise over run to find out the gradient

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks cycle. How do i get to the answer you gave me? It looks like it makes sense. I don't know what a gradient is though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

conversion 1.3 is 13/10 in improper fraction form..... good job at least your trying to figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? way do u change it into a improper fraction when you can leave it the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because it is how you properly write algebraic equations unless it calls for otherwise.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see yah later dumass

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not really because if you were working it out using a graph it would stay the same a 1.3
