(√(5)+√(2))/(√(5)-√(2)) how would I rationalize the denominator and solve

OpenStudy (raden):

multiply that fraction by conyugate of the denominator hint : conyugate of √(5)-√(2) is √(5)+√(2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, wat do I do next?

OpenStudy (raden):

multiply both fractions :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for my answer I got 7+2squareroot of 10/3

OpenStudy (raden):

yes, u are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok can i ask you another question if thats ok?!

OpenStudy (raden):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would I start graphing this inequality. y<-x^(2)+5

OpenStudy (raden):

is it an equality ?

OpenStudy (raden):

i meant inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y≤-x^(2)+5

OpenStudy (raden):

actually, suppose it be an quadratic equation y=-x^2+5

OpenStudy (raden):

to graph that function, u can use the steps bellow 1) find x-intercept (miss it if there are not points x-intercept) 2) find y-intercept by take x=0 3) determine the vertecs (x=-b/2a , to get y just subtitute x-vertec to f(x)) 4) make a graph and utilize according to the values above

OpenStudy (raden):

another way, use wolfram :) http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3C%3D-x^2%2B5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (raden):

you're welcome
