Please help! I'm really confused. Angle A = 8x - 2, angle B = 2x - 8, and angle C = 94 - 4x. List the sides of triangle ABC in order from shortest to longest. Options: (all are line segments) o AC, AB, BC o AC, BC, AB o AB, AC, BC o AC, BC, AB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice problem...

OpenStudy (phi):

I think they want you to "solve for x", then use that value to find the angles A,B and C. The leg opposite the biggest angle is the longest the leg opposite the smallest angle is the shortest

OpenStudy (phi):

Can you do step 1: find x?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just a moment please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 16

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. now find A, B and C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A = 126

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B = 24 C = 30

OpenStudy (phi):

now shortest to longest the shortest leg is opposite angle B. What is the leg opposite angle B?

OpenStudy (phi):

a picture helps if you don't know off hand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is the third option; line segments AB, AC, and BC.

OpenStudy (phi):

legs are named by their two end points |dw:1355704785978:dw|
