LaTeX Colors in Open Study
I was messing around with the different basic colors from a chart I found on wikipedia and I noticed that only some of them actually work in Open Study. So I thought I'd make a chart of the colors that seem to be working, at least for me. \[\large \begin{matrix}\color{aquamarine}{aquamarine} & \color{blue}{blue} & \color{black}{black} \\ \color{brown}{brown} & \color{cadetblue}{cadetblue} & \color{cornflowerblue}{cornflowerblue} \\ \color{darkorchid}{darkorchid} & \color{forestgreen}{forestgreen} & \color{fuchsia}{fuchsia} \\ \color{gray}{gray} & \color{green}{green} & \color{greenyellow}{greenyellow} \\ \color{limegreen}{limegreen} & \color{magenta}{magenta} & \color{maroon}{maroon} \\ \color{orange}{orange} & \color{orangered}{orangered} & \color{orchid}{orchid} \\ \color{purple}{purple} & \color{red}{red} & \color{royalblue}{royalblue} \\ \color{seagreen}{seagreen} & \color{skyblue}{skyblue} & \color{springgreen}{springgreen} \\ \color{thistle}{thistle} & \color{turquoise}{turquoise} & \color{violet}{violet} \\ \ \color{blueviolet}{blueviolet} & \color{cyan}{cyan} & \color{goldenrod}{goldenrod} \\ \ \color{lavender}{lavender} & \color{midnightblue}{midnightblue} & \color{plum}{plum} \\ \ \color{\tan}{\tan} & \color{violetred}{violetred} & \color{white}{white} \\ \color{yellow}{yellow} & \color{yellowgreen}{yellowgreen} & \color{salmon}{salmon} & \end{matrix}\] If there is already a thread on this, then I apologize. I didn't feel like digging through all of the closed threads though. :) lol
Example how to use color in the Equation tool: \color{blue}{x^2+y^2=4} The way it will look formatted: \[\color{blue}{x^2+y^2=4}\] If you forget to put the \ in front of color, that's fine. The equation tool allows for that.
@ChMe
cool. sounds exhausting tho lol
I've gotten kind of used to avoiding using the buttons (except for matrices). So if you're familiar with typing the fraction notation, it's very similar. Hah :D yah i guess XD
frac{}{} color{}{}
I'm going off to create a pretty reply to somebody's post. Thx for the LaTeX tips
@zepdrix: You can also use hex colors!\[\color{#ff0000}{\text{\color{#ff0000}{}}}\]\[\color{#96cdcd}{\text{\color{#96cdcd}{}}}\]So, you can use ALL the colors possible on OpenStudy.
Oooo very fun :)
\[\textbf{TIPS}\]Use the darker shades. \(\color{#C00}{\text{#C00}}\) is much more comfortable than \(\color{red}{\rm red}\). Avoid using colors when you can -- `\textbf`, `\textit` and `\underline` are warmly welcome =)
How do you write things in those little comment boxes like that?
``` `write between these ticks.` ```
`Oooo fun :O Grrr now how'd you change it green in the box? D:::` Man I got a lot to learn T.T
Automatically :)
