48 > 6 - 7a

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

This is just like an equation... 48=6-7a

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Lets get the variable by itself... so all regular numbers to one side and the variable to the other.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Can't you subtract 6 from both sides? 42=-7a .... 42>-7a

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

I just wrote it two different ways.. @mariisol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what the answer

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Divide by -7.. and once you divide by a negative you must also flip the sign... so you tell me what the answer is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6?

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

a=-6 -6<a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this 11x + 4 < 37

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Same setup... subtract 4 from both sides 11x < 33

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Now you divide both sides by the 11 since it has the variable x<3

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

@mariisol do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6g + 3g + 12 > -18 and this ?

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

I want to see you do this one... first combine like terms...
