4. Which of the following describes a neutral atom of oxygen? (1 point) 6 protons, 6 neutrons, 6 electrons 6 protons, 6 neutrons, 8 electrons 8 protons, 8 neutrons, 10 electrons 8 protons, 8 neutrons, 8 electrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^^ Cheating

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the (1 point) is suspicious, but we mods have no way of verifying if this question is "cheating". Posts which blatantly say: "im from here and in this class and give me answers" are of course the easiest to make a judgement on :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well well when I'm looking at the final exam for class which has this exact question with those exact answer choices, I can SAFELY say this is cheating. Just trying to do my part to uphold academic integrity and keep my students honest. Just because your'e the moderator does not mean you know everything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would you like a screen shot so I can prove I'm right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im aware of my limitations. just as i am aware that i cannot verify youre statement. but you can bring up this matter with the administrators of the site; they have all the means necessary to handle it :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

@preetha can you check into this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have brought it up with the admin. I got a warning for my effort. This site is awful and is further exasperating the problem of cheating.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've been following this site since Septembe when I first found student responses on test to match exact response on this site. The problem has only gotten worse from there. There is no way to safely monitor this site to make sure that it's being used the way it's intended.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i agree with that, and share your frustrations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this site is to get help on how to figure it out not to get away with the cheating but you are cheating your life away so..... your lose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 and now this site is blurring the line between right and wrong. Case and point ^^

OpenStudy (amistre64):

most of these subjects on here i see no real reason to have them; most of the questions asked are sitting right on the google. Math and Physics tend to be more concept based to me.

I think that sometimes, these tests at school are so hard, its like impossible to even figure out yourself. Openstudy has its name for a reason, so students can other ones on there questions at school. I bet the only reason the kids from your school come here its because the teachers never help them!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry kiddo, but that's untrue. I spend the majority of my day calling students who are failing, setting up tutoring session that students never come to, and making comprehensive unit test reviews that are very closely modeled from teh test (which I take a whole lesson to go over ALL the answers)> All I ask is that students call me when they need help, and they do not. honestly, the majority of the students that cheat using this website are trying to find the easiest way to get through school without applying much effort. It's called laziness, and it's an epidemic.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

my accounting teacher last term gave test reviews which were the test questions with different numbers; made worrying about a test less panicky :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't give test questions and the answers. I review the larger concept. If a test question asks "What are the steps involved in the light-dependent reactions" during my test review, we'll review the whole process of photosynthesis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The main thing about taking a quiz or test is not studying its testing strategy. knowing how to guess the right way. proses of elimination.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. That's not the point of quizzes or tests. The point is to study the material so that when you read the question you know the answer before you even look at your possible choices. This is probably why so many students fail at essay and short answer type questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe school systems shouldn't make such ridiculous questions that don't match our curriculum then, then this site wouldn't exist.
