How can you tell when a quadratic equation has no real solutions? when the radicand is negative when b in the quadratic formula is greater than the radicand when the radicand equals zero when the radicand is not a perfect square

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

then the radicand is negative, you can't take thje square root of a negative and you need to use complex numbers... so No real roots can be used to describe the quadratic. If the radicand is negative the graph of the parabola will be positive definite or negative definite
