7x-6=8

geerky42 (geerky42):

We need to isolate x, so we have to add both sides by 6. Now we have \(7x = 8 + 6\), which can be simplified to \(7x = 14\). The variable x isn't isolated yet. We have to divide both sides by 7. \(\dfrac{7x}{7} = \dfrac{14}{7}\) \(x = 2\) Is this clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x-6=8 +6 +6 7x=14 x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 7x-6=8 7x=8+6 7x=14 x=14/7 x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What you do is you add 6 on both sides 6+6 8+6 6+6 cancels out n ur left with 8+6 and that equals 14 then you are left with 7x = 14 divide 7 on both sides 7x/7 that cancels out n ur left with x = 14/7 and that equals to 2 and 2 is your answer

geerky42 (geerky42):

Seriously, guys? ONE answer is enough.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x-6=8 +6=+6 7x=14 divide both side by 7 nd u get x=2
