Let = f(x) –2x + 4 and g(x) = –6x – 7. Find f(x) – g(x) help please!!!!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

f(x) – g(x) -2x+4 – (-6x - 7) -2x+4 + 6x + 7 I'll let you simplify further

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so if i simplify that would it be 4x+11?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A principle that is good to understand is that when we say something like \[ g(x) = –6x – 7 \]It means that we can substitute\(g(x)\) anywhere it appears with \((-6x-7)\). So the expression: \[ f(x) – g(x) \]Is identical to: \[ f(x) - (–6x – 7) \] This is the principle @jim_thompson5910 is using.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's correct whadduptori

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woo so thats the anwser?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):
