Hi, I just have two questions if you could help by explaining to me so I can finish them it'd be wonderful! If quadrilateral BDMZ is a rhombus, which of the following ordered pairs could be a vertex? Segment BD is shown on the coordinate plane. Point B is at -3, 9; and point D is at -7, 2. (1, -1) (2, 3) (1, 3) (2, 2)

f quadrilateral FGHI is an isosceles trapezoid, what is the ordered pair of its missing vertex? http://gyazo.com/97b3198363e9fd8b091cf0bde1fa9200 (9, 1) (6, 1) (10, 1) (7, 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the second one I have 9,1

OpenStudy (hba):

hello there :)

OpenStudy (hba):

How did you get (9,1) ?

OpenStudy (hba):

For this ques If quadrilateral BDMZ is a rhombus, which of the following ordered pairs could be a vertex? Segment BD is shown on the coordinate plane. Point B is at -3, 9; and point D is at -7, 2. First find distance of BD using distance formula \[D=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\]

OpenStudy (hba):

As you get this you can use distance formula from points B and D Because your unknowns are at the same distance .

OpenStudy (hba):

Got it ?

OpenStudy (hba):

One of them is at the same distance so we will be using distance formula on your options The option in which you get a similar distance kaboom it is solved :D

OpenStudy (hba):

@xoalyssaxo1 Alive ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry openstudy is being very slow and not loading and I got 9,1 because I tested to see which made the figure and 9,1 and 10,1 did but 10,1 looks even not isocles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used the distance formula and got 8 but how does that make two points @hba

OpenStudy (hba):

I guess it is (10,1) The distance BD is \[\sqrt{65}\]

OpenStudy (hba):

Now take one of your options A)(1, -1) Check its distance from B(-3,9) and then Check its distance from D(-7,2) If one of them is at the same distance as BD then this option is correct. If not move on to the other options B)(2, 3) C)(1, 3) D)(2, 2)
