Can someone help me out with this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{p^6}+\sqrt{9p^6}+3\sqrt{p^6}-\sqrt{p^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you simplify that?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Didn't I just explain it to you few minutes ago? Lol. Try the problem first, there's nothing wrong if you get it wrong, I can help you get to the correct answer.

You can only add things that are alike. My teacher used say add apples to apples and oranges to oranges. The only to that are alike that you can add without manipulating is\[\sqrt{p ^{6}}+3\sqrt{p ^{6}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Handle the \[\sqrt{p ^{6}}\]like you do x and you have x + 3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{p^6}+\sqrt{9 p^6}+3 \sqrt{p^6}-\sqrt{p^2}=7 \sqrt{p^6}-\sqrt{p^2}=7 p^3-p \]
