can sumbody explain how to do this problem : 2a^2 + 30a + 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You haven't stated anything to do... do you want to factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o sorry yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help - the quadratic is very very important. You want to do science, engineering, finance, stocks & shares, be an astronaut learn this!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

........ and many more things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm @T0mmy what are you talking about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mmmmmm - ya seem savvy enough to get on this site with the pseudonym help123456 to know a little about how passwords and usernames work. Computers: devised and invented by mathematicians,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, what do you want to do with this quadratic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor it and what are you talking about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK: x=-5 OR x=-10 You have the answer but know nothing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what ik the answer but i get lost doing it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, no problem show me your working and I'll see if I can help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but i had to type it so yeah: To do this problem you would approach it in a different way. First instead of finding the two numbers that add to give you the middle number and the last number by multiplying, you see the two in the front of the equation you now have to set it up differently now you have to set it up like this (2a + ) (a + ). You must find a number times 2 times that fits into the equation to get 100. Step 2) So you find that 10 and 10 will do because 2 times 10 +10 equals 30.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes or simply it by dividing everything by 2 To get: \[a ^{2}+15x+50\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o that seems easy so then what...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You've answered it, what multiplies to get 50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 *5 50*1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To be precise 25x2 as well. Which one of the 3 add to 15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I meant was which of (1,50)or(2,25)or(10,5) sum to 15.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nun right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 10+5=15...I think anyway you've got the answer adios
