–2(x – 3) ≥ 5 – (x + 3) show your work please.
Any ideas?
yea i here
i know you have to combine like terms but im confused on how to do that because they are on both sides.
OK, simplify each side of the inequality as needed.
-2x-3≥ 6+3x
is that correct ?

Not quite, first work on the left hand side, using the distributive property of multiplication with respect to subtraction as follows.
|dw:1357821872656:dw|
see its done
Now go to the right hand side and simplify.
the right side would be 5x+8 . i think
nopes u can solve it as equation and it will be x>=-4 the shortest form
chechk out the file i uploaded..
Not quite, you should be very careful with the minus sign as follows:
@alexashea1997 look at this file
dont mean to be rude or anything but i could barley read it.
sorry i did a mistake sorry
x>=+4
|dw:1357822322680:dw|
-2(x-3)>=5-(x+3) -2x+6>=-x+2 -2x+6-2>=-x+2-2 -2x+4>=-x (-1)(-2x+4)>=(-1)(-x) 2x-4>=x 2x-4-x>=x-x x-4.=0 x-4+4>=0+4 x>=4 clear now @alexashea1997
im sorry but can you do the whole problem because you just doing one side is confusing. i promise this is not part of a test these are practice questions and not part of my grade
@alexashea1997 We have to work on simplifying one side at a time, so that we will be able, later to combine both sides and get answer.
Did you follow what I did above?
yea. i get what your doing now. so the simplified equation is....... -2+6≥ 2-x ?
You missed the "x" on the left hand side?
oh yea opps !
what the next step ?
-2x + 6 ≥ 2 - x
Now we can solve the entire inequality by first adding 2x to both sides.
