Based on the time line, what results of the First Crusades caused tensions between the Byzantines and their former allies?
Here is the time line
One of the reasons has to do with something outside of the context of the timeline, and that's the perception that Latins were often seen as supporters of the Church in Rome. The Byzantines, on the other hand, followed a form of Christianity called Eastern Orthodox, and the two were occasionally at odds with each other eventually leading up to the Great Schism. The worst result was during the Fourth Crusade when Christian knights and their allies attacked and sacked the capital of Constantinople and made it a Latin kingdom for a time, all just to get to the Holy Land with the help of the Venetians (who had no great love for the Byzantines, either).
