I WILL GIVE TONS OF MEDALS!!!!!! Solve the system of equations. 3x + 3y = 10 x + 3y = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh nvm i meant Solve the system of equations. 3x + 3y = - 10 x + 3y = 0

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Use substitution. The simplest one would substitute for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im bad at substitution ims orry :(

OpenStudy (abb0t):

That means, subtract 3y from zero. Plug in -3y for x on the first equation. And then use algebra to solve for Y once you have your y, plug it back in to equation y = -3x and solve for x.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You could also use elimination — subtract the second equation from the first, and the y terms will drop out and leave you an equation for x. Solve that, then plug the value into either equation to find y.
