Give an example of the human body trying to maintain homeostasis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What happens when we go outside, in really hot weather? We sweat. And why do we sweat? So that we can keep our bodies cool. So that we don't die, from the heat. "Homeostasis" is the body's way of keeping a stable internal environment. It's our body's way of keeping itself healthy, and functional. Sweating in hot weather is one of those ways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

during the winter or cold season, we tend to pee more, and during the summer we pee less, this is because in the summer excess fluid is lost through other means such as sweating, but i the winter we don't sweat, so the volume of urine is increased because the body has to pass out all the fluid through urine. this is done be the kidney the kidney plays a very important role in homeostasis

sweating to keep cool/ shivering to keep warm

Temperature is also regulated by vasoconstriction of the peripheral blood vessels(narrowing) during cold to retain body heat in blood and vasodilating in the hot times to allow heat escape.

And there ya go.
