The expression 36 ÷ 6 • 2 + 1 is equal to _____. a,2 b,4 c,13 d,18 Please help me:(
Try using PEMDAS P-parentheses E-Exponents M-multiply D-divide A-add S-subtract
Remember PEMDAS, Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. So, you're going to do 6*2, first. Try it :o)
Multiplication doesn't come before Division, they're on the same level. When dealing with a problem like this, I think you're suppose to go from left-to-right if you have multiplication and division. I think you would do the 36/6 first.
13???
Yah that's what I came up with c: Good job! If you're suppose to do the multiplication first, you end up with 4. But I'm pretty sure that's now what you're suppose to do. It's difficult to say for sure because this division symbol is never used in real practice. So problems are usually easier to read when written as fractions D:
