Integral help....

OpenStudy (baldymcgee6):

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Looks right to me.

OpenStudy (baldymcgee6):

but now what?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Except, wait. No. How did you get the cot/sin in the end?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

You can leave it simply as is w/o separating. Using u-substitution. Use: U = sin

OpenStudy (baldymcgee6):

ok, i'll try that..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@baldymcgee6 correct u can write cotx/sinx =cosecxcotx (and its integral is know)

OpenStudy (abb0t):

oh wait nvm. i see what u did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aliter 1/(cosx-1)= -1/(1-cosx)=-1/(2sin^2(x/2))=-1/2 * cosec^2(x/2) and then integrate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and its integral is cot (x/2) +c

OpenStudy (baldymcgee6):

thanks for the help...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome
