You want to mix a 5% blue dye with a 20% blue dye to make a 12% blue dye. The function y = 100(0.05)+x(0.2)/100+x gives the concentration y of blue dye after you add x mL of the 20% dye to 100 mL of the 5% dye. How much of the 20% dye must you add to get a dye that is 12% concentrated?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

come on people help us out here.! lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Forreal man Iv been stuck on this problem for 20minutes. I got other work to do to.

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

haha same here i have like 6 more lessons to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thepavand Do you know the answer. You've reviewing this problem for awhile?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

lol . the other guy left my question ;(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha he didn't know it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Theres not many helpful people on here as i thought or is it just our hard problems

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

haha its probably because its a hard question. im about to just guess and move on haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets just skip it and do the workpad

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

okk im guessing 87.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill go back over that later. Okay number 13 workpad

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

i think its a direct variation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How ? How can we explain ?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

well 3*3 is 9 9*3 is 27 and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So write that on the workpad?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How bout you do it and snip it to me in and attached file so i can see what your talking about.

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

well direct variation equation is y =kx so we write direct variation and in a new step write y=3x how do i "snip" something? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have windows ?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

i think.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol check on your computer on the left hand side go to your windows then click search, then you "search for file" <-- click that and type in snipping tools it will pop up. Once you do that you can crop the picture and show me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

lol yeah i dont see where to do that. one second haha ill try to figure this out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you cant do it. dont worry ill explain it much better later. whatever you put in the workpad just write to me so i can do the same.

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

im downloading windows lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol what ? windows should come with your computer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should look like that on the bottom left side of your computer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is your answer for 13 in the workpad?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

well here dont type in the box where you wrote before type it in the box above it " direct variation" then add a new step, delete the "direct variation" from the new step and write in y= 3x im using firefox so idk if its the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So just wrire what you said "direct variation" then add a new step, delete the "direct variation" from the new step and write in y= 3x"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Firefox should still be the samething. I mean idk

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

yes show me a pic when you're done. still trying to figure out the snip thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that right ?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

nooo write direct variation where the question mark is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh haha okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay i did that

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

haha yeah, erase all of that in the box you wrote all the stuff in then start a new step, and instead of having direct variation where the question mark is, put y=3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like this ?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

lol in the first step, erase the y=3x and put it in the second step in place of direct variation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it. is that it?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

yes. thats all you put. hahah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay cool . Moving on number 14? You got it? It seems like your ahead of me

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

lol no im not ahead of you, i was trying to find the snipping tools and helping you with the work pad. i have no idea how to compare them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well basically if you have a windows then you can do it. If not im not sure. Basically you go to your windows. Click search once you click search it will say "For files or folders" click that and on the search line type "snipping tools" it should pop up once you click that your good to go.

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

it says no items match your search. but i checked and i have windows. lol

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

i got it...lol nvm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good : )

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

yayyy! lol

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

should look like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perfect thats what i got

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

lol ok
