German is no longer the language of chemistry. The fact this question was posted here entertained me though. There is someone who frequents the biology section that speaks German, although I cannot recall her username, it Starts with an M. She has a very high rank from what I recall.
A lot of the elements come from german roots.

@abb0t Although England was the birth place of industrial chemistry, Germany use to be the worlds leading nation in chemistry, if you wanted to be a chemist back in the day you had to speak German! That all changed after the WWII though for obvious reasons, look up IG Farben if you are interested in the history of industrial organic chemistry.
