Last question I will ask today. Graph in comments. Question: Write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form. So in the graph I know that the y intercept is - 1. so I have y = mx - 1 so for. I just don't know what the slope is. How do you tell the slope of a line that doesn't have any points?

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

No points?! Oh no! I guess we'll just have to.... PICK OUR OWN POINTS. I would suggest (-2, 0) and (0, -1) Then use the formula Y2 - Y1 / X2 - X1 Your slope will be the ration between those differences! (rise / run)

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

ratio*

Okay, thanks.

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

No probs.
