Caesar question ?
can anyone give me a few examples why Brutus was a traito and a patriot to the people ? i have come up with 2 examples but i need a few more patriot: Brutus explains that while they must kill Caesar to save Rome from dictatorship, they must not kill Marc Antony as well, or they will appear to be cold blooded killers in the eyes of the people rather than defenders of the country. traitor: Caesar looks at Brutus as Brutus stabs him and says, “You too, Brutus!” Brutus was Caesar’s good friend. Brutus betrays Caesar when he, like the others, stabs him in the Senate
Brutus is what you would call a tragic hero. While he betrayed his friend (an alleged relative in some stories) he was still doing it for the better of Rome. If Caesar was crowned and given the power to rule, the destruction that he may have cause is unknown. However, Brutus' tragic flaw was his gullibility and hubris (Excessive pride or self-confidence.) He worked hard for his country and tried his best to do what would benefit the people-- from the killing of Caesar to his own suicide, Brutus committed these acts believing they were right. Though Brutus may not have done the best things at the time, his ideas and intentions were not flawed. This why Brutus is a both a traitor and a patriot. As he said in his speech after Caesar's death, "Not that I loved Caesar less-- but that I loved Rome more."
