Thanks so much! :)
Parth (parthkohli):
Because you know that \(y = 2x + 7\), you can rewrite \(3x + \color{#C00}{y}\) as \(3x + \color{#C00}{2x + 7}\). Now\[3x + 2x + 7 = -3\]Can you solve this?
OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):
yeah x = -2 right?
so which answer would it be? thanks. :)
Parth (parthkohli):
Okay, so because \(x = -2\), we know that \(y = 2x + 7\) can be written as \(y = 2(\color{#C00}{-2}) + 7\)
OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):
so which answer is it? (Sorry, I don't quite get it... :() Like which should I put in as "x" ,and which as "y"? In the coordinates box? See attached...

(x,y)
OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):
yes, what is the answer? what should I put in (x,y)?
thanks. :)
Parth (parthkohli):
What do you get for \(x\) and \(y\)? :-)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you work them out individually and add them?
Parth (parthkohli):
Wait, are you awn786?

what about me @ParthKohli
Parth (parthkohli):
\[x = -2 \ \ \ \& \ \ \ y = 2(-2) + 7\]
OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):
Thnks! :)
Parth (parthkohli):
What is \(2(-2) + 7\)?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what about me @ParthKohli

3, right?
Parth (parthkohli):
Yes. So you have \(x = -2\) and \(y = 3\).
OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ;) :D
Parth (parthkohli):
We always write the solutions like \((\mbox{solution for x, solution for y})\).
Parth (parthkohli):
So \((-2,3)\)!
