First, drop all parentheses. They are unnecessary in this problem. Then combine like terms. Like terms have exactly the same variable part.

Are you sure this problem was copied correctly? After you drop the parentheses, there are no like terms, so there's nothing further you can do. The operation between the parentheses is addition. Is that correct?
