The industrialization era of the United States is a critical period of progress in the history of the nation, but it also led to many problems in society. Think about and answer the following questions: What were some of the major issues and problems that arose in the United States during this period? How effective was the U. S. government in responding to these problems?

Well some major problems were safety, working conditions, and environmental effects. Factories were becoming more widely used, which led to many health hazards. People were breathing in fumes and getting caught in machinery. Child labor was also a big issue. Children were used to work in tight factories in places adults couldn't reach. The factories were admitting lots of hazardous fumes into the air, along with car emissions. The air quality of factories was horrible and led to lung disease. The government created Child Labor Laws, the clean air act, emission laws, and legislation to regulate the safety and air quality of factories. Also, buildings were designed with fire escapes and extinguishers because of a lot of factories were flammable. Hope it helps :)
