OpenStudy (jaweria):

Need Help badly!!! Find dy/dx: 4x^2+3xy^2-6x^2y=y^3.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Take derivative of both sides then divide both sides by 3y². Can you handle it? No?

OpenStudy (jaweria):

if you dont mind can you please go through this problem till its answer because they are really tough examples for me and I am still learning.

OpenStudy (jaweria):

can you please help me :(

geerky42 (geerky42):

OK, Do you know that derivative is distributive? Just take derivative of each term separably.

OpenStudy (jaweria):

hmm like this?

OpenStudy (jaweria):

nobody wants to help me out here :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think what he is trying to say is look at it this way dy/dx: (dy/dx 4x^2+ dy/dx 3xy^2- dy/dx 6x^2y=y^3. but I too am still learning this junk and its fairly new to me. I do know you have to use the sum laws (i think)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Ok, I will go through with you. What is derivative of 4x²?

OpenStudy (jaweria):

its 8x

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yes, now, what is derivative of 3xy² in respect of x?

OpenStudy (jaweria):

isnt it 6xy?

geerky42 (geerky42):

Hmm, no. Try use product rule.

OpenStudy (jaweria):

ok

OpenStudy (jaweria):

i m trying but having difficulty :(
