What is the measure of RST?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mertsj @mathstudent55 @phi @Jonask @zepdrix @blondie16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SmokeysTheName

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zepdrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you first add the degrees up then divide by 2?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

yes im pretty sure, but lemme get someone on this question to verify.. @hartnn

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The angle formed by two intersecting chords is 1/2 the sum of the intercepted arcs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay @SmokeysTheName :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mertsj yeah! so then what do you do?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So add 47 and 77 and divide the answer by 2

OpenStudy (phi):

The measure of an angle formed by 2 chords = 1/2 the sum of the measures of the intercepted arcs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I was right then good! :)

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, so your thought 'do you first add the degrees up then divide by 2' is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i added them up and got 124..then divided 124 by 2 and the answer is 62? :)

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

yes thats right (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much!
