OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the solution to the system of equations: y=3 y=-3x-3 and then it has a graph? what exactly am I suppose to do?Someone please help me I'm stuck in this question?!

OpenStudy (zugzwang):

The solution simply means where the two lines intersect. Even more simply, it means a definite value for x and a definite value for y. You already have one of these.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and when it says x=3 does that mean that the line would be undefined?

OpenStudy (zugzwang):

The line is quite defined... but its slope, is undefined.

OpenStudy (zugzwang):

Makes sense, yeah? When your line is of the form y = k (k is some constant) The line is horizontal and the slope is, understandably, 0. When it is of the form x = k The line is vertical, and the slope is undefined. We don't talk about slopes of perfectly vertical lines, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Do you think that you can be able to graph it to show me??

OpenStudy (zugzwang):

Graph what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

graph the y=3
