If we think about slope in terms of rise / run...

It will rise any amount, but doesn't it run 0 all the time?
So... (any #)/0

think of it this why if you where snow skiing and went over a cliff... what is going to happen to you?? you dont know!! undefined
HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):
a vertical line is undefined because it basically means that you are everywhere all at one time, which is kind of impossible. For example, if you have a distance vs. time graph, it means that at one time, you are at all different distances at once.
HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):
The point is, this is undefined. My above explanation probably made no sense whatsoever

thank u. It did though.

so a horizontal line would have slope of 0 right?
OpenStudy (accessdenied):
That is correct. :)
0 rise, any amount of run: 0/N = 0.
HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):
congrats
