need help with vector and geometry space

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here my problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where are you having troubles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a to c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, so in order to work with vectors, you need to define them, for instance a) asks for the Area, therefore you need to know the vectors that describe these area and then use the vector product. The Vector product gives you the Area of the corresponding parallelogram, hence the Area you're looking for is 1/2 of that area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that pq and pr is pq < -1,2, 0> and pr<-1,0,3>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly, do you know how to compute the vector product between these two vectors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

using the dot product?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, the vector product, keep in mind that the vector product is: \[\Large \vec{a} \times \vec{b}=ab\sin\alpha \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the Area of a Parallelogram (RHS), you need to know how to compute the vector product though, it's not the same as the dot product.

ok @Spacelimbus
