Someone I need help simplifying!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[1. Simplify. 5^{-1}(3^{-2}) \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[5^{-1} = 1/5 \] and \[3^{-2}= 1/9\] so \[(1/5)*(1/9)=1/45\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay i get it now! But I really don't understand this one!! \[mn ^{-4}/p ^{0}q ^{-2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is equal to: \[\frac{m}{ n^4q^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are my options. \[\frac{ mq ^{2} }{n ^{4} }\] \[\frac{ m p }{ n ^{4} }\] \[mn ^{-4}q ^{2} p ^{0}\] \[\frac{ q ^{2} }{ mn ^{4} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be the third option I presume.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay do you know this one? write in standard notation \[ 6.12 × 10^{3} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you've been a lot of help to me!! :) thanks!:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just multiply 6.12*1000 since 10^3 = 10*10*10, so 6.12*10*10*10 = 6.12*1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Btw, are you a girl or a boy? Just out of curiosity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 6,120 and haha im a girl :) the picture could be either one but I have my dog in my lap:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup, there you go, thats right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Before you ask, I'm a college student. A Math and Law Major. And a Boy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I'm only in 9th grade.. :/ and I thought you were a girl haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I'm a boy, I just love retro videogames like zelda..
