A man is currently 20 years older than his oldest son. His oldest son is currently two years younger than his youngest son. Three years before the current time, the product of the ages of his sons will be ten more than eleven times the age of the father. What is the current age of man's youngest son?

I'm sorry, where did you cousin go, and where did the youngest son come from? Are you sure you typed the question right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I retyped the question. I was reading another question while typing this one.

youngest son: x oldest son: x+2 father: x+2+20 --->x+22 then: (x-3)*((x-3)+2)=10+11*((x-3)+22) Solve for x

when you multiply the son's ages, you need to remember to minus 3 for both ages before multiplying, because it says, 3 years before the current time. if it was 3 years later, than you add 3 to both ages. Same with the father's age.
