A conducting wire is lying flat on the ground. The south pole of a bar magnet is brought down toward the loop. As t6he magnet approaches the loop, there will be a an induced current clockwise around the loop. b an induced current clockwise around the loop. c an induced current clockwise around the loop. d a changing magnetic field around the loop

a-b-c is the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correction @BoneFreeze b an induced current counterclockwise around the loop. c an induced voltage but no induced current around the loop d a changing magnetic field around the loop

@JamesJ @amistre64 @Agent_Sniffles any ideas

OpenStudy (jamesj):

First of all, is a current induced? Absolutely. I hope I am now understanding your set-up....By Lenz's law, the induced current produces a magnetic field itself contrary to the one induces the current. A clockwise current by the right-hand rule should induce a magnetic field contrary to the magnet.
