Help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@valentinekid I know i just told u i didnt need anymore help but im stuck!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplify the sum ((a^2-9d+20)/(d^2-3d-10))+ ((d^2-2d-8)/(d^2+14d-32))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assuming you meant d^2 for the first term and are the two fractions supposed to be added or is it multiplication like the others?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are supposed to be added @valentinekid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so when you factor all 4 polynomials we get: \[\frac{(d-5)(d-4)}{(d-5)(d+2)}+\frac{(d+2)(d-4)}{(d-2)(d+16)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then we simplify and need to find a Least Common Denominator to add them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{(d-4)}{(d+2)}*\frac{(d-2)(d+16)}{(d-2)(d+16)}+\frac{(d+2)(d-4)}{(d-2)(d+16)}*\frac{(d+2)}{(d+2)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kind of messy looking, but then you can combine your two numerators all over one denominator: (d-2)(d+16)(d+2)

I gotta run to class now, but I'll try to be back on later tonight if you need more help.
