A charged particle of mass m = 6.1X10-8 kg, moving with constant velocity in the y-direction enters a region containing a constant magnetic field B = 1.3T aligned with the positive z-axis as shown. The particle enters the region at (x,y) = (0.71 m, 0) and leaves the region at (x,y) = 0, 0.71 m a time t = 513.0 μs after it entered the region.http://s3.amazonaws.com/answer-board-image/c365df70-c12f-457f-982a-b780dadb0166.png
I found Velocity to be 2174 m/s. What is Fx/ Fy, the x/y-components of the force on the particle at a time t1 = 171.0 μs after it entered the region containing the magnetic field.
relevant equations involve qvB=m((v^2)/R) and the distance the point has traveled on the circle is .37 m. but I'm not sure how to find the angle.
Your distance the mass traveled on a circle is shorter than the distance from the entrance to the exit point.which is 1.0 m. Impossible. Are you assuming the entrance angle is 90 deg.? if yes then the exit is 90 deg. right? R=.71 right?
