y=3 cos (x-3pi) - 2 how do you move the graph 3pi units to the left if according to the period and spacings my x- coordinates are (pi/2 , pi , 3pi/2 , 2pi )

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

It's actually 3pi units to the right. your list of x-coordinates could be continued ... 5pi/2, 3 pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea to the right sorry, but if the whole graph moves 3pi units that would be the new center so I dont know what x coordinates to write because usually i start with the spacing and end in the period but the phase shift is way bigger so thats what throws me off

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

In this case the period is still 2pi, so place your origin at (3pi,-2). Since the amplitude is 3 go up to (3pi,1) for your first point on the curve. Then mark off three points pi/2 units apart on the x-axis, and draw your standard cosine curve with an amplitude of 3.
