#1: When you heat an air-filled, sealed can, what happens inside? A. The collisions of air molecules against the wall of the can are weaker and less frequent. B. The collisions of air molecules against the wall of the can are stronger and more frequent. C. The collisions of air molecules against the wall of the can do not change. **my answer: B is that correct @aaronq ?

#2: You have 0.5 L of air in a rigid, sealed container at a pressure of 203 kPa and a temperature of 203 K. You heat the container to 273 K. What is the final pressure of the air? A. 102 kPa B. 151 kPa C. 310 kPa D. 273 kPa **my answer; D is that right?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

lol this sounds a lot like the first question on the other set... but yes it's right

#3: You fill a tank with gas at 30°C and 101.5 kPa and seal it. You decrease the temperature to 10°C but keep the volume constant. What happens to the pressure? A. It reduces to one-third of what it was. B. It stays the same. C. It triples. D. It reduces by 7 percent. **my answer; D is that right?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

#2 is incorrect

OpenStudy (aaronq):

#3.. why seven percent? lol

#4: At 325 K, the pressure inside a gas-filled container is 467 kPa. If the pressure inside decreases to 233 kPa, but the volume remains the same, what is the final temperature of the gas? A. 162 K B. 325 K C. 335 K D. 651 K **ym answr: A. 162 K is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yeah #1 does sound similar! HaHAH :P and aww :( idk bout 2 then.. what do i do for that? as for 3 idk.. haha is it by 7%? Or is it A? to 1/3 of what it was?

#5: The following question appears on a quiz: "You fill a tank with gas at 40°C and 100 kPa, and then you seal it. You decrease the temperature to 10°C but keep the volume constant. What is the final pressure?" A student answers that the new pressure should be 25 kPa. Which of the following explanations is true? A. The student did not solve for the correct parameter, and the answer should be 400 kPa. B. The student did not solve for the correct parameter, and the answer should be 50 kPa. C. The student did not work with kelvins, and the answer should be 110 kPa. D. The student did not work with kelvins, and the answer should be 90 kPa. **my answer: D is that right??

OpenStudy (aaronq):

for number 2 use, P1V1=P2V2 for 3, it is 7 percent, but you should be working the problems out mathematically, not guessing :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for 2 idk.. i keep getting 273 k Pa... :/ and haha yeah! so are 4 and 5 right? :/

OpenStudy (aaronq):

#4 is good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay! what about 2 and 5 then? :/

OpenStudy (aaronq):

5 is good also

OpenStudy (aaronq):

omg sorry 2 was right all along

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol haha yay! :) its oaky :) what about 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol u already said 5 was good haha my bad!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

haha no prob !
