Finding derivative using a table I understand this one but the one with 1.1 I'm not sure how to solve. Attached picture of problem. d/dx[xf(x)] | x=4 d/dx[1.1f(x)] | x=4

Just take the derivative of f(x) and multiply it by 1.1. You would normally use the product rule to take the derivative, but since 1.1 is a constant, the derivative of a constant times a function is just the constant times the derivative of the function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, you are looking for\[1.1f \prime(4)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

= 4 * 1.1 = 4.4 I see it now. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Careful, the derivative of f @ 4 is not 4, look at the table again!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is 4 on the last picture I attached.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOps, you are correct. I was looking at the first picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, sorry about that. Glad I understand this simple problem now. THanks once again!
