how do i go about solving y=(8x)/(x^2+36)? i know i solve for y=o to get the x intercept, but the fraction is confusing me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How I solve when there are fractions like this, is to just multiply both sides of the equation by the denominator. It will take away the fraction on the one side and leave the other side just multiplied by it.

if you just want to get x intercept, and you know that at y =0 , you get it. so, y=0 iff, numerator =0 means 8x=0 ---> x=0, no need to consider about the numerator
