Wire A has a resistance of 12 ohms. If wire B is twice the length of A and twice the diameter, what is its resistance? ( Assume that both wires are at the same temperature)

Use the equation; R= rho x Length/ Area
OpenStudy (anonymous):
for the new resistance, R'=rho x 2L/pi (2r)^2 => R'= rho x 2L/4pi r^2 that means R' = R/2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
therefore R'= 6 ohms
